Ways People Waste Money Foolishly

If you’re trying to save money the biggest roadblock in your plan can be spending money foolishly. Here’s a list of the most common ways people waste money.

  1. Leftovers. If you go out to eat, take home your leftover food. If you make too much food one day, save the rest and serve it the next day again. Don’t throw it away and needlessly waste food.
  2. Groceries. Buy only what you plan to eat. If anything, buy less than you think you’ll need. You don’t want to buy 5 avocados and end up throwing two away.
  3. Bulk purchases. When you buy in bulk to save money, it’s a good idea. But when you buy in bulk and then never end up using all of the items you buy, that’s when you lose any possible savings and end up wasting money.
  4. Returning items. Buying an item is easy but returning it is not. You need to keep the receipt, return it with the tags and within a certain period of time. Not only that, but it’s a hassle to go back to the store with your items.
  5. Extended warranties. Rarely do products stop working. Most products are covered by a basic warranty for 1 year anyway. If you bought an extended warranty for all of your products, even if you used it to repair / replace an item for free once, you would still lose money overall.
